The following is a list of helpful information and suggestions to ensure selling your home is an enjoyable and safe experience:
- Remove as much clutter as possible and try to have neat and organized closets and cupboards.
- Keep your home as clean as possible as showings may occur at the most unexpected times!
- Remove any and all paper documents, bills, and receipts from easy to view areas to ensure your privacy.
- DO NOT let any individual into your home unless a Realtor accompanies him/her and we have notified you of the showing.
- Should an interested individual knock on your door asking for information, please tell them to contact myself at the number listed on the sign. Do not give them a
- feature sheet or let them into your home under any circumstances.
- Any and all contractors hired by myself to photograph your home, take measurements, do home inspections and so forth will identify themselves with a business card and you will always be notified of their names and the date and time they will be at your home.
- Please try to keep your walkways and drive way clear of snow/ice as much as possible.
- Try to keep you exterior light on during the evening for maximum visibility.
- A gentle air freshener or potpourri is always a nice touch.
- Keep blinds and curtains partially open to allow plenty of light into your home during the day – if appropriate.
- Try to ensure the kitchen is spotless with uncluttered counters, no dirty dishes and a clean stove.
- PLEASE try not to be at home during showings unless absolutely necessary.
- It is helpful to repair any damage to walls that is visible or will become visible once you move out.
- Removing soap scum, mildew and stains from toilets, shower stalls, sinks and counter is always a good idea.
- Try to repair or replace any broken items such as window screens, attached fixtures, baseboards, screws, brackets, levers, handles and so forth.
- Clear away any pet messes from your lawn and keep the yard as clean and orderly as possible.
- Make sure your garage is free of clutter and dirt.
